Section 1

Booking & delivery

How do I book a dumpster in Racine?

Call (262) 383-3695. There are no forms on this site by design — a two-minute conversation settles the size, the placement and the timing far better than a web form and a callback. Tell us the size you want, we'll deliver it the same or next day depending on availability, you fill it at your own pace, and we come pick it up and haul it away when you're done.

Do you deliver dumpsters throughout Racine County?

Yes, we provide dumpster rental services across Racine, Mount Pleasant, Caledonia, Sturtevant, Union Grove and Waterford — the regular route out of our 6143 Regency W Dr yard. If your address sits just outside that list, call anyway.

How quickly can you deliver?

Same-day or next-day delivery is available in many areas around Racine when you call early in the day, depending on what's already on the schedule — it's a listed service of its own for a reason. Jobsite swap-outs take priority because a full container can't wait.

How long can I keep the dumpster?

We keep rental periods flexible enough to cover most jobs comfortably. Need it longer than planned? Call and we'll extend it — no penalty for asking.

Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?

No, not as long as we know exactly where you want the container placed. Most customers just tell us over the phone or leave a note, and we place it exactly where you asked without needing you on site for either the drop or the pickup.

Can I get the container swapped mid-job?

Yes. A swap drops an empty container and takes the full one in the same visit. On a live jobsite, tell us your expected fill rate at the start and we'll schedule swaps in advance rather than waiting for the call.

Section 2

Sizes & capacity

What dumpster size is best for remodeling projects in Racine?

Most kitchen and bathroom remodels fit well in a 15-yard or 20-yard dumpster. Larger renovation projects or full home cleanouts often call for a 30-yard dumpster. Describe the scope when you call and we'll size it exactly rather than guess.

What sizes do you carry?

Five: 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 yard roll-offs, each with its own real capacity range — roughly 50–70 bags in a 10 yard up to 230–250 bags in a 40 yard. The 10 yard suits small cleanouts, roofing shingles and tight driveways; the 30 and 40 yard cover whole-home cleanouts and large construction or commercial jobs. Full dimensions and comparisons live on our dumpster sizes page.

Which size fits a roofing tear-off?

A 10 yard fits most roofing-shingle tear-offs — it's the size built for that exact job. Tell us the roof's square footage and how many layers are coming off and we'll confirm it fits before delivery day.

Which size handles a whole-home cleanout or a big renovation?

A 30 yard is the usual answer for whole-home projects and office cleanouts; a 40 yard steps up further for large builds and commercial or industrial jobs. If you're between two sizes, describe the job and we'll point you the right way.

Can heavy materials like concrete, dirt or roofing shingles go in any size?

Heavy debris like concrete, dirt, brick and tile is best kept to a 10 or 15 yard container — those sizes are built for the weight. A bigger box fills to its weight allowance on heavy material long before it looks full.

Section 3

Pricing & process

How much does it cost to rent a dumpster in Racine WI?

Pricing depends on the dumpster size, type of materials, and rental duration. We offer flat-rate pricing — one number covering delivery, the rental period, pickup and disposal, given to you by phone for your specific job, free of charge.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. We quote a flat rate up front with no surprise charges tacked on afterward. If a job looks likely to change the number — heavier debris than expected, a longer rental — we tell you before it happens, not after.

Do you charge extra for a longer rental?

We'd far rather extend a rental than have you rush a job or overfill the container. Call if you need more time and we'll tell you what it involves before you commit.

How do I pay?

We accept all major credit and debit cards. Payment is arranged when your booking is confirmed — no cash handling required on delivery day.

Section 4

What can and can't go in

What items are not allowed in the dumpster?

Hazardous materials such as chemicals, fuels, batteries, and refrigerants are not permitted. If you're unsure about a specific item, ask when you call — one prohibited item can get a whole load rejected, so it's worth flagging before it goes in.

What can go in the dumpster?

Most renovation and cleanout material: wood, drywall, tile and flooring; furniture; general household junk; yard waste like branches and clippings; roofing shingles; and most household appliances that don't contain refrigerant.

Can I fill the dumpster above the rim?

No — debris has to stay level with or below the top rim. An overfilled dumpster cannot legally be hauled on the road, and we'll need material removed or a second trip before we can pick it up, which just slows your job down.

What about yard waste specifically?

Branches, soil and landscaping material are exactly what our Yard Waste Dumpster Rental service is built for — we keep that load clean and separate from construction debris whenever a job allows it. Just tell us when you book and we'll route it correctly.

Section 5

Permits & property

Do I need a permit to have a dumpster delivered?

In most cases, no, if the container sits entirely on your own private property — a driveway, yard or lot. That covers the large majority of jobs we deliver. Not sure about your address? Ask us and we'll tell you plainly.

What if the container needs to sit on the street in Racine?

That's where a right-of-way permit typically becomes relevant. Racine County does not run one countywide ordinance — each community handles its own street-placement rules. Inside Racine, we point customers to the city's own Department of Public Works at (262) 636-9171 to confirm the specifics for their street; other communities on our route handle it their own way. See our permit guide below for the full picture, or just tell us your street situation when you book.

Will the dumpster damage my driveway?

It shouldn't, and we take real steps to prevent it. Our driver walks the spot with you before anything moves. If a surface is already cracked or heaving, we'll say so and suggest a better spot rather than press on and hope.

I'm digging for a fence, footings or landscaping — does that affect my dumpster delivery?

Not the delivery itself, but it's worth doing right either way: call Diggers Hotline at 811 (or 800-242-8511 toll-free) before any digging, regardless of whether you're also renting a container from us. It's Wisconsin's real one-call center, and it's a free call that keeps a shovel or auger away from a buried line.

Where does the debris actually go?

We route loads to appropriate disposal and recycling facilities serving Racine and Racine County, and where a job allows it, clean concrete, metal and other recoverable material get routed toward recovery instead of straight disposal. If you're weighing a DIY drop-off at the City's own Pearl Street Drop-Off Facility against renting from us, see our cost-comparison guide for the honest breakdown.

The permit rule, straight up

Property vs. public right-of-way

The situation that covers every community we serve across Racine County.

On your own property

A dumpster that sits entirely on your own driveway, yard or lot is the setup for the large majority of jobs we deliver across Racine and Racine County — that kind of placement generally falls outside the right-of-way rules that a street or curb placement can trigger. If you are not sure where your property line falls or how your street is treated, ask us when you book and we will tell you plainly before the truck ever leaves the yard.

On the street or right-of-way

Placement in a public street, on a sidewalk or anywhere else in the right-of-way is where a permit typically becomes relevant. The City of Racine handles that process through its Department of Public Works, and since Racine County does not run one countywide waste ordinance — each community sets its own rules — the exact requirement can look a little different once you cross into Mount Pleasant, Caledonia, Sturtevant, Union Grove or Waterford. Rather than guess at a rule we can't confirm in writing, we tell every customer the same thing: call Racine DPW at (262) 636-9171 to confirm what your specific street requires, or just ask us when you book — we deal with this every week and will point you the right way. If your project also involves digging — a fence line, footings, a new driveway apron — call Diggers Hotline at 811 (or 800-242-8511 toll-free) before anything goes in the ground, whether or not you're renting from us.

Section 6

Local rules & seasonal planning

Does winter weather affect scheduling in Racine?

Some, yes. Racine sits directly on Lake Michigan, which puts it in a genuine lake-effect snow band — a November 2025 event dropped nearly 10 inches of snow across parts of Racine County. We stage extra containers when we can see a storm coming, but live jobsite swap-outs still take priority over everything else on the schedule.

Is spring flooding a real concern here?

Yes, and it's current, not just historical. The Root River runs through downtown Racine and periodically floods in the spring — flood warnings for Racine and Racine County have been issued as recently as April 2026. If your basement or property takes on water, we handle the wet, damaged-item cleanup that follows — see our Root River flooding guide for what to expect.

Do tornadoes hit Racine County?

Occasionally, but the risk here is real and modest, not extreme. Racine County has recorded 24 tornadoes across its full historical record, with zero recorded deaths, and most were weak (EF0/EF1). We plan around occasional severe thunderstorms and infrequent, generally weak tornadoes — this isn't 'Tornado Alley' territory, but it's still worth taking storm warnings seriously.

Is Racine the Racine County seat?

Yes — Racine genuinely is the seat of Racine County, and by far its largest city. We deliver throughout the city itself and out into Mount Pleasant, Caledonia, Sturtevant, Union Grove and Waterford.
